POSITION: MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

This is the Role:

The Maintenance Electrician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor. The goal for the department is to achieve less than 1% electrical down time. Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace without jeopardizing product quality or the environment. To efficiently and systematically solve machine related problems. Work takes place mainly while the plant is in production but will also include maintenance and equipment modification during down times. To help resolve any recurring electrical problems with a view to maximizing equipment availability time and efficiency, ensuring this is done within the guidelines of the OSHA Standards. The Supervisor may add different tasks each day at his/her discretion.

What you offer:

  • Be a licensed Industrial Electrician
  • Have a minimum of 5 years industrial experience
  • Have a good command of the English language at a technical level
  • Be capable to work with minimal supervision
  • Be willing and able to work overtime on short notice
  • Work closely with shift Maintenance Mechanic (and contractors as needed)
  • Own quality tools capable of performing routine tasks
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills in electrical  
  • Experience working in a team environment

Personal Competencies:            

  • Respond to requests from production staff
  • Preventive and predictive maintenance
  • Work 12 hour continental shifts    Must be willing to have flexible break times if called upon to keep the factory producing
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, computer entry and reports
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Investigate and resolve electrical problems
  • Provide electrical expertise to the operations department on processes, projects or where required
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor from time-to-time
  • Offer ideas and suggestions for positive changes
