Regulatory and Industry Affairs Advisor (London or Bridgend, Wales)

ROCKWOOL UK, part of the ROCKWOOL Group, is a major construction brand with offices in London and Bridgend. The materials we manufacture are designed to meet the challenges of modern living, and we are actively engaged in discussions across the policy, regulatory and industry arenas to drive quality in the built environment and help deliver on the social, environmental and economic benefits this underpins.

We are looking for a Regulatory and Industry Affairs Advisor to join our team. This is a new role within our Corporate Affairs department and the post holder will develop key relationships, represent us in industry and regulatory fora, and be integral to our work on building performance and sustainability.

This is the role:

  • Developing and maintaining comprehensive knowledge of the UK policy, regulatory and standards landscape for the built environment
  • Proactively providing expert advice on industry and regulatory matters to colleagues
  • Developing positions on building regulations and associated standards
  • Identifying relevant engagement opportunities, and building and maintaining relationships – particularly within industry
  • Representing us in relevant regulatory, standards and industry fora
  • Supporting broader objectives and activities across the department

We are looking for an experienced professional who can operate independently whilst also valuing close cooperation with the immediate and wider team. Essential skills and behaviours include:

  • A degree level or equivalent qualification
  • Proven previous experience in a similar or related role e.g. Regulatory Affairs, Civil Service, built environment organisation
  • An excellent understanding of UK policy and regulatory framework
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A drive for excellence
  • A proactive and solutions-oriented approach
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Calmness under pressure
