Do you want to lead a team of specialists involved in a broad range of engineering projects – from small optimizations to complex green field projects?

Applying your technical experience to this management role, you will have the opportunity to influence the overall strategies and ways of working within the Group Technology department of a dynamic, international organisation.

This is who we are
Group Technology is a central engineering function within ROCKWOOL, with the purpose of delivering machinery, equipment and entire factory setups to our global production sites. Our resources and deliveries contribute to everything from optimization of and service on existing equipment to large, complex green field projects. 

This is the role
Following a division of GT into smaller units, you will head the local team in Roermond and be a part of the Cold End & Systems Solutions team, the competence center for the production technology and processes for the Cold End and Off-line production lines. The team in Roermond consist of 10 highly-skilled specialists and external consultants. With immense technical scope, they deliver know-how and technical solutions to customers across the ROCKWOOL Group.

Moreover, the role will include managing the overall Cold End & Systems project portfolio including a broad interface to procurement and shipping within Group Operations & Technology and the ROCKWOOL factories.

Preserving a general overview of your teams’ efforts and understanding the needs of the business, you will:

  • Lead your team in their daily operations according to our project models
  • Optimise the setup to improve individual and team performance
  • Coach team members and act as a sounding board on technical issues
  • Manage resources to ensure optimal impact
  • Contribute to the overall process and strategy development within GT

You will be based at our office in Roermond in The Netherlands. However, as your role entails building a network with colleagues across the globe, you can expect some travel (40-60 days a year).

You have a great technical understanding combined with a commercial mindset. Furthermore, you have what it takes to lead a team of specialists and balance business requirements with technical solutions as you bring: 

  • A Bachelor- or Master degree with a technical background within engineering
  • experience with people management – or clear aspirations to become a manager
  • great people skills and an open-minded approach to leadership
  • the ability to navigate in a dynamic environment and quickly get your bearings if priorities change
  • a strong intercultural understanding, and you communicate fluently in English (written and spoken)
