Throughout our 50 year history we’ve worked continuously to advance this way of growing and have since enabled our customers to grow in the most efficient and sustainable way possible. We do this by helping our customers reduce the use of valuable resources like water, space and nutrients and at the same time achieve better yields and quality. Grodan believes in bringing the most innovative solutions to market and as a testament to that we have recently launched a new software platform that integrates greenhouse data and provides growers better cultivation insights. You will be part of the Grodan Research & Development department (10 professionals) in Roermond and report to the R&D Director.
As cultivation specialist with a background in plant science & greenhouse horticulture, your main responsibilities will be to:
Take a leading role in creating and realising Grodan’s vision for the future of cultivation; develop the products and competitive edge for Grodan towards 2021 and beyond.
Cultivation lead for the team. Define, lead and participate in market, application and research oriented initiatives.
Cultivate an internal and external network including academic institutes, commercial research organizations and industrial partners.
Address market needs by translating insights into new products, applications, and services.
Disseminate insights and know-how to the rest of the Grodan organization, facilitate trainings.
In this field of expertise, provide 3rd line support to the organization.
Ensure that Grodan maintains its technological edge.
Academic degree agriculture or plant science with a specialization in greenhouse horticulture (or having achieved sufficient experience with greenhouse horticultural systems).
3+ years’ work experience in horticulture, related to plant and crop growth and production
Experience working in projects and according to project methodologies.
Strong oral and written communication skills in both Dutch and English
Strong network within the horticulture industry within this field of expertise
Sensitive towards new trends and innovations in the horticulture industry
Ability to maintain internal and external contacts and to act and communicate at different levels in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment
You will be working in our research centers in Westland and Limburg, you will be working in Roermond at least 1 day a week.
