Entrepreneurial Business Leader introducing new products and new markets into the horti-culture segments

Job content        

Grodan is hiring a Manager Business-Product Development who identifies new product segments and enters high potential markets within the international horticultural industry. Primarily, it is your responsibility to enlarge the scope of Grodan and identify, develop and create new business opportunities. From a conceptual and strategic point of view you ensure future business-modelling in addition to Grodan’s current market-leadership. As a prominent member of Grodan’s team you analyze, determine and develop successful short-term and long-term business-product development strategies. You manage a multi-functional (matrix) team consisting of the disciplines needed for the new Businesses such as R&D, finance, sales, marketing, etc. 

You will define a strategic vision, based on the input from (end) customer business contacts, product-market research and Grodan’s ‘new business vision’ of product-leadership. Furthermore, you provide Grodan with a long-term forecasting and determine the best approach to launch new businesses and products, and how to penetrate these into new markets. After finishing the strategic process and setting up solid Business Cases, the Strategic Business Development plan needs to be implemented. In this phase you will work on establishing sales plans, sales targets, portfolio management, channel management, product development, marketing planning, and all other areas needed to set up the new Business.
Being the Manager Business-Product Development, you are the linking pin within Grodan’s New Customers, Marketing, Development, Sales and Supply Chain department. As well, you take care of the external and internal processes needed for the fast growing horticultural business. The Manager Business-Product Development manages two business developers and will report to the Managing Director of Grodan.

The profile              

Grodan is aiming for a bright, conceptual, business-sensitive, energetic  and result-driven entrepreneur. The Manager Business Development is a holistic and strategic thinker and is able to define, act on, determine and implement the chosen strategy. Furthermore, you are a strong, easy-connecting communicator and stakeholder-manager who is able to work in a multi-cultural and cross-functional environment.                                                                                                       


A Masters degree in Marketing/Sales-Management/Business Administration/Agriculture, accompanied with at least 5 years strategic business-development experience in a high-performing position within a dynamic and market-oriented multinational. You have a strong knowledge and proven track-record of strategic Business-Product Development processes. Besides, you have multidisciplinary experiences and a strong affinity with following international market developments. You have proven to be successful in a entrepreneurial start-up business environment and you are fluent in English. Some international travelling is required.
