This is the Role

To manage, develop, and expand Rockwool/Roxul’s Engineering specification function as a Global supplier of insulation to the Industrial process market in the assigned geography and to promote Rockwool Technical products in line with the department’s strategy, budget, and within agreed departmental costs. To drive demand for Rockwool Technical products and systems with leading Ownership groups, Global Design EPC and Industry consultants in the aforementioned geography. This may include responsibilities for direct calls on Engineering firms, Key Accounts and/or Industry influencers either individually, in a group or other public forum. The NA Specification Manager reports directly to the Director of Sales, USA.

Key Result Areas

         The KPI’s will be aligned with RW-TI strategy and will be set during the Performance Management review.

The goals will refer to Monthly metrics around strategic and customer updates, Regular significant achievement updates with customer specifications, Management of project data and project tracking, from time to time Special reports to draw attention to subjects of interest as directed. The Specifications Manager will maintain relations with internal and external contacts and quickly establish and maintain effective networks with internal and external stakeholders adapting style to specific target groups.

Specifications Manager is responsible to:

  • Build customer relations and gain a position in the network of the parties involved in a way to influence the choice of RW-TI and its products in a positive and professional manner;
  • Actively influence projects in order to get ROCKWOOL products specified directly by name or indirectly on ROCKWOOL product Unique Selling Points;
  • Communicate with the Industrial and Sales team associates to ensure they are informed of key project activities and are supporting agreed upon tactics;
  • Ensure that project goals are set for each Region and agreed Industry segments;
  • Ensure that we are measuring our project success criteria along agreed metrics and report monthly activities on quantitative goals;
  • Ensure that Identified design firms that present the greatest potential in each major market are in consistent contact with appropriate RW-TI personnel.;
  • Represent RW-TI Management at all appropriate industry functions including trade associations, trade events and regulatory authorities;
  • Work closely with Rockwool Technical Services and the Industrial Segment Manager ensuring they are properly informed and are executing effective Engineering sales;
  • Ensure market and competition monitoring for constantly adapting the sales and marketing strategies to the up-to-date market needs;
  • Manage the department within the described fixed cost budget and execute strategic initiatives;
  • Track progress and report significant events or milestones, track projects using IIR tools and ensure transition to sales at the appropriate stage in the sales cycle. Work alongside other RW-TI sales team members ensuring all efforts are well coordinated and that project information gets documented and transferred;
  • Ensure industry and product knowledge and skills are updated by participating in relevant seminars, workshops etc.;
  • Participate in the  RW-TI-academy and thus acquire general knowledge on all segments;
  • Systematically register all the activities in RockSell CRM tool;
