Engineer for world-class production projects

02 August 2019

Our purpose is simple and compelling: To release the natural power of stone to enrich modern living.

ROCKWOOL products save energy and water and reduce CO2 emissions, protect buildings from the spread of fire; reduce waste; improve acoustic comfort, building performance and aesthetics; and enhance Precision Growing, thereby improving the efficiency of fresh food production.

While the stone we use may be millions of years old, what we do with it is cutting-edge. Every day, ROCKWOOL colleagues are developing and applying new technologies to release yet more potential of stone wool to enrich modern life.

Would you also be proud to enrich society like we do? Apply now to join us as we improve modern living conditions for millions of people worldwide.

Would you like to be one of the talented minds behind innovative ROCKWOOL production facilities?

Join our expansion adventure with this international career opportunity that will take you travelling to see your very own designs and ideas come to life.

This is who we are
What we do is truly unique – creating sustainable insulation material out of stone. To do this, we develop and create our own custom production equipment and solutions.

As a part of Group Technology in Hedehusene, you will join project managers, mechanical specialists and fellow engineers in charge of in-house design and commissioning of world class production equipment and factories. Together, we provide the most competitive and flexible production platform in the industry.

Specifically, you will join our Cold End & Systems Solutions team of 25 colleagues responsible for developing and implementing cold end and off-line production solutions. This includes sawing, stacking, packing and other manufacturing solutions that transform the raw insulation materials into finished products ready for worldwide distribution.

This is the role
You will work with all phases of a project, from concept study through specification and design to test, commissioning and after service. The projects may vary, from small machine deliveries and engineering support to participation in large international green field factory projects.

What the projects all have in common is your role as the expert in manufacturing technology which enables you to find just the right solutions and ensure their correct implementation.

Therefore, you will travel approximately 50-80 days per year to gain first-hand insight and oversee implementations in the factories. The trips will mostly be within Europe – but occasionally Asia and North America – and often have a duration of 1-3 days at a time.

Specifically, you will:
-    Explore production equipment needs and production challenges
-    Produce mechanical designs of production equipment
-    Select appropriate equipment and suppliers and communicate with them to place orders and secure compliance with specific design needs
-    Produce technical specifications and documentation of chosen equipment
-    Travel to hold meetings and supervise implementations on site

This is what you offer
As an experienced engineer, you know the value of being both result and quality oriented, ensuring timely deliveries each and every time.

Being highly collaborative and having great communicative skills, you know how to create sound professional relations and work well with others, both internally, externally and across borders, to reach the very best solutions together.

At the same time, you have the ability to make decisions on your own and drive projects forward both independently and through others.

Furthermore, you:
-    Have solid experience from a similar position, working with mechanical design and machine construction for production facilities
-    Hold a degree in mechanical engineering
-    Have knowledge of and practical experience in using CAD Inventor or similar program – knowledge of automation processes and robot technology is a great advantage
-    Are fluent in English

This is what we offer
We understand what it means to follow your own project through to the end. Therefore, working with us, you won’t have to hand over your projects halfway, but will enjoy following them all the way and see them come to life. We trust you to drive projects all the way, making the right decisions to bring about the most optimal production solutions.

In this position, you will also have the opportunity to grow an international career as you collaborate with highly helpful, professional and experienced colleagues from around the world.

Please submit your application In English via the link as soon as possible and before August 30th 2019. If you have any questions please contact Department Manager Jørgen Viuff via email: We take candidates into the recruitment process on a continuous basis and will close the recruitment process once we have found the right candidate.
