The ROCKWOOL Group’s main business area is building insulation, providing thermal comfort along with fire safety and acoustical comfort for all types of buildings.

This is the Role:

Reporting to the Building Science Manager, the Building Science Specialist is responsible for providing architects, designers and specifiers the expertise, tools and services in building science to unlock the energy saving potential of their building without compromising their designs.

  • Use and provide the best technical expertise in building science to support internal personnel and customers including but not limited to architects, building envelop consultants and designers
  • Support the development of a fundamental understanding of building science within ROCKWOOL Business Development and the sales organizations
  • Provide direction, training and counseling within the department for internal and external building science support, development, improvement
  • Evaluate and implement the most current building science tools and methodologies
  • Evaluate market and customer impact of the ROCKWOOL Building Science services

This is what you offer:

  • Master’s Degree in Architectural Sciences (Building Sciences) or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge in building science, building codes and standards
  • Experience in building materials or construction industry
  • Ability to plan and manage projects focusing on research
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience using WUFI, THERM and HEAT 3 modelling software is an asset
  • Being familiar with whole building modeling software is an asset
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to travel to the USA
  • Bilingual French/English is an asset
  • Member of OAA or P.Eng is an asset
