This is the role:

The Production Planner/Scheduler reports directly to the Sr. Manager, Purchasing & Planning. This position has no direct reports and is based out of the office in Chicago, IL. The Production Planner is responsible for maximizing service levels while minimizing inventory levels. You will manage production orders and purchase orders for materials release to manufacturing plants to keep the high efficiencies in operations. You will also maintain the data integrity for the ERP-SAP system.

This is what you offer:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in production planning or master scheduling role required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
  • APICS (Association of Production and Inventory Control society) or other professional certification preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • SAP knowledge and experience required.
  • Knowledge of MRP functionality.
  • Proven knowledge of BOM usage, structures and where used functionality.
  • Production planning and inventory control techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve problems independently.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Ability to prioritize team work flow.
  • Demonstrated ability on accuracy and data integrity.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office – emphasis in Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Ability and inclination to challenge data integrity concerns and recommend changes to improve current processes and procedures within team.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
