The Opportunity:

The Production Planner is a key role at ROCKWOOL. This role is accountable for developing feasible production plans and production schedules that drive production efficiencies while meeting customer demands. You lead by example and inspire your team to deliver top results. You are passionate and you thrive in an environment that is fast paced and have a keen sense for continuous improvement. Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, some of the exciting things you will be doing:

  • Determining appropriate WIP and FG inventory levels.
  • Creating and publishing efficient production plans and schedules while managing capacity constraints.
  • Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay.
  • Responsible for inventory service levels and plant conformance levels by effectively scheduling the production line(s) and analyzing root causes of conformance shortfalls for future prevention.
  • Prepare necessary analytical reports specific to Inventory, attainment and adherence that track and measure progress.
  • Participate in functional teams with relation but not limited to production planning and capacity management.
  • Assist with Finished and Semi-finished Goods inventory control through daily communication with Production and Warehousing personnel ensuring the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption.
  • Drive departmental continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Establish effective working relationships with internal and external contacts to the Supply Chain Department and maintain the professional competence, knowledge and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and communicate daily with other departments such as, but not limited to, Customer Service, Operations, Traffic, Warehousing and Shipping.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to production facilities within North America and Europe (approximately 4 trips per year)                                                   


What you will offer Rockwool:

  • Post-Secondary education in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in production planning, inventory control and MRP.
  • Production Planning / Inventory Control certification an asset (CAPICS, APICS, PIC).
  • Must be detail orientated and able to maintain high data integrity.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to influence and impact others at various levels within the organization to achieve results.
  • SAP Experience (PP and MM Module experience).
  • Proficient in Supply Chain concepts (safety stock planning, MRP calculations, scheduling constraints and bottlenecks, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications – emphasis in Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
