Job Description

POSITION: Production Line Operator

The ROCKWOOL Group’s main business area is building insulation, providing thermal comfort along with fire safety and acoustical comfort for all types of buildings.

This is the Role:

The Production Line Operator will report directly to the Production Supervisor and will be based out of the Factory in Byhalia, MS. The Production Line Operator position operates equipment per company standards, specifications and policies to produce high quality mineral fiber ceiling tile products, with focus on company standards of quality, material and time efficiency.

Key Results Area:

  • Operate a forklift to move raw materials, semi-finished and finished product without damage to products or packaging.

  • Feed the line with appropriate raw materials and/or semi-finished goods, documenting batch numbers used in production

  • Assist with operating various heavy machinery, such as: Splitting Saw, Turning Device, Sanding Machine, Shrink Machine, Pallet Wrapping Machine and Heating Tunnel

  • Accurately package product delicately according to packaging specifications while maintaining quality of the product

  • Visually inspect quality of product through on-line aesthetic quality checks

This is what you offer:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) and/or ACT WorkKeys Certificate

  • High mechanical aptitude with experience in set up and troubleshooting of equipment

  • Personal drive and commitment to continuous improvement standards

  • The ability to read and understand written instructions and product specifications

Physical Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to consistently stand/walk on concrete floors for 8 or more hours per shift

  • Must be able to work in high temperatures, in excess of 100 degrees Fahrenheit

  • Must be able to visually detect aesthetic quality non-conformities

  • Plant will be dusty with airborne particles

  • Some lifting, bending, stooping, walking up/down stairs, and fast pace walking
