Melting Technician Job Summary
*Must be willing to work any Monday through Friday - 8 hour fixed shift*
Operating the furnace where pre-heated raw materials arrive to be turned into ‘melt’ is step two in our patented production process before the melt reaches the spinning wheels. As a Technician operating the Melter at ROCKWOOL you will be responsible for a variety of jobs throughout the melt area including furnace operation. Safety will be your upmost priority while supporting the effective production of high-quality stone wool insulation products within the Company’s parameters of material and time efficiency. Reporting to the respective shift Team Leader, the Melter technician is part of the operations team focused on continuous improvement and maximizing up-time.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
