Our purpose is simple and compelling: To release the natural power of stone to enrich modern living.

ROCKWOOL products save energy and water and reduce CO2 emissions, protect buildings from the spread of fire; reduce waste; improve acoustic comfort, building performance and aesthetics; and enhance Precision Growing, thereby improving the efficiency of fresh food production.

While the stone we use may be millions of years old, what we do with it is cutting-edge. Every day, ROCKWOOL colleagues are developing and applying new technologies to release yet more potential of stone wool to enrich modern life.

Would you also be proud to enrich society like we do? Apply now to join us as we improve modern living conditions for millions of people worldwide.

Do you want to play a pivotal role in creating the future of stone wool products for the building industry?

As a PM, you will lead the efforts of a group of specialists in developing a brand new loft insulation product. Grab this chance to make your mark on the building industry and people’s homes for years to come.

“We’ve had a PM on this project for a year or so, so there is already some data and groundwork in the bag. We are very excited for you to carry on the project. It has a lot of potential – it’s a product the market demands.”People, Process & Innovation Manager Dorte Gram

Become part of a global R&D function
Join 100+ colleagues in Group R&D at ROCKWOOL Group’s HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark. We develop solutions for our own machines as well as products for the building industry. We work in dedicated project teams with well-defined goals and a very high degree of self-autonomy, trust and empowerment. In continuation of these values, all employees are given the opportunity to spend 10% of their time pursuing their own ideas.

Lead the development of an innovative product from A to Z
You get to be a part of all phases of the development process – from the ideation phase to the final product implementation in our sales organisations, primarily in Europe. In developing this product, your team will need to look at very basic core chemistry and work your way forward from there. We need a product that we can produce cheaper and more efficiently.

Your primary task will be to ensure timely project deliveries and secure a great team spirit and an efficient collaboration with stakeholders. Your team will consist of specialists from Group R&D as well as other departments, e.g. from our manufacturing plants, Logistics and Marketing. You will also need to engage with chemists, mechanical engineers and many different specialist stakeholders from the building industry.

You will manage the project according to the PRINCE2 methodology. A typical day is yours to plan; you decide when the optimal time is to arrange team meetings, client tests, time in the laboratory and reporting.

You should expect approx. 40 travel days a year, primarily to our manufacturing site in Jutland.

Project manager with a background in the building world
Among your key competencies are your excellent planning skills. These are crucial as you will not only plan your own days but also those of your project team members. You know how to prioritise and delegate tasks as well as involve, motivate and lead stakeholders. And you are motivated by being part of a team that will create new, innovate and competitive solutions that will redefine the state-of-the-art. We also expect you to:

  • Bring 5+ years of project management experience preferable within R&D or product development
  • Hold a degree in civil/constructional/building engineering, architecture or similar
  • Possess solid knowledge of the building processes and materials
  • Have great theoretical skills – and the ability to combine theory with practice
  • Be able to combine your theoretical skills with practice
  • Speak and write effortlessly in English and navigate well in an intercultural environment

Enjoy a healthy leadership culture
We offer you a challenging job in an ambitious company where you and your team have a high degree of freedom to achieve your goals.

You will experience a beneficial leadership structure, where you report to both a people manager and a technology manager, so questions of professional capabilities and job satisfaction are separated. This is a set-up valued highly by the employees in ROCKWOOL.
