Quality Assurance Specialist Job Summary

Standards are important to the bottom line and leads to lower costs by reducing redundancy, minimize errors or complaints and reduce the time to market. The Quality Assurance Specialist within ROCKWOOL is a valued contributor to our Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) standards as the key supporter of the development of quality improvement performance, processes and tools. You will assist in the design, running, managing and review of our standards to ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting which meets regulatory and operational requirements.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Quality Assurance Specialist?

  • Responsible for ensuring that the quality technicians are properly instructed and trained in such a way that they can perform the job they are hired for in a safe and reliable way.
  • Responsible for accurate and on-time update of the Quality Control System at the factory so that the system, at any time, corresponds to the demands of the internal and external standards and regulations, and ensures the system is used according to the established procedures.
  • Responsible for accurate internal and external control and calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Responsible for the accurate use of measurement methods as well as ensuring that employees work in accordance to guidelines described in the Quality Control System.
  • Ensures quality complaints are processed timely and as described in the Quality Control System. 
  • Weekly reporting of Quality Key Figures (KPI’s).

What skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Quality Assurance Specialist?

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience required.
  • 3 – 5 years of practical experience in continuous flow manufacturing or industrial environment and with automated equipment required.
  • Knowledge expert of ISO standards in general industry.

The employee is constantly using hands to: finger, handle, feel or operate objects, and computer keyboards. The employee is occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, hear, and smell.  The employee must occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
