Challenged to achieve something extraordinary

As a member of our team, you will be challenged in your everyday work and participate in interesting projects to evolve new technologies and products for ROCKWOOL. Your work will contribute to innovations that will take our business forward and enable us to stay leaders in our industry. In our creative and dynamic work environment, you will be empowered to engage with credible partners and be at the very forefront of our industry.

This is who we are

Step into Group Patents at ROCKWOOL International A/S, Denmark. We are a corporate function consisting of 8 colleagues who assume responsibility for all patent activities in the ROCKWOOL Group.

Besides supporting 100 + colleagues in Group R&D, we support R&D functions in our international subsidiaries with core patent work and the business side of obtaining, having and enforcing patents.

This is the role
You will be involved in all aspects of patent work and will frequently collaborate with internal inventors and business functions as well as external patent attorneys.

A large part of the role is understanding our business and how our patents play into that. Being an in-house attorney who work directly with the inventors, you will be a part of the development processes – and see the solutions come to live as they are implemented worldwide.

Although our products and technology seems mature, it is highly advanced and continuously evolving – and protecting our inventions is prioritised at a strategic company level.” – Arne Kraglund, Patent Portfolio Manager

Your primary responsibilities include:

  • Identification and protection of inventions
  • Oppositions, appeals and support in patent court cases
  • Strategic patent work related to R&D projects and business activities
  • Monitoring competitors and technology
  • Patent portfolio management

This is what you offer
To thrive and succeed in this role, you must be highly analytical and capable of seeing cases from a strategic point of view. Despite working in a busy environment, you remain disciplined in solving your tasks and succeed at keeping an overview of several cases at once.

Lastly, we expect you to bring:
•    A master’s degree e.g. in construction engineering, physics or geology
•    Experience in mechanical patent work
•    Business acumen and the ability to see the broader commercial perspective
•    Proficiency in written and spoken English

It is a plus if you are a qualified European Patent Attorney.

This is what we offer
Being part of Group Patents, you will join highly experienced colleagues, including 4 other patent attorneys, a search specialist, a paralegal and a patent portfolio manager. We are proud of our highly specialised knowledge – and you will get a work environment that allows you to concentrate when hitting the books.

You will be working in HQ in Hedehusene, Denmark or optionally from one of our other major offices in Germany or the Netherlands.

Our atmosphere is characterised by trust and empowerment – where everyone is provided with a framework to be heard, exercise influence on our strategy and take on more responsibility. Therefore, you will have the option of devoting 10% of your time to pursuing your own ideas.
