Technical Services Manager Job Summary
The Technical Services Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating all capital investment projects, has responsibility of facility and utilities for the site as well as the store room. This role works closely with Operations, Safety, Environmental, Marketing and Group Technology. This role will be responsible for management of new launch initiatives, project management of existing equipment and other capital investment projects, selection of facility service providers as well as ensuring comprehensive maintenance of non-process  equipment.

What are the day-to-day responsibilities of a Technical Services Manager?

  • Management of employees withing the Technical Services Department including development, coaching and feedback as well as performance management.
  • Project management of investment projects including budget, installation, workflow, management of change and task assignment within and outside of department.  
  • Manage the storeroom and employees associated with it.
  • Responsible for all facility and utility at the factory that is not directly related to production.  This includes contracts and contractors.
  • Maintenance of all non-process equipment

What professional skills and qualifications do you need for the role of a Technical Services Manager?

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent, relatable experience,
  • 5 years’ practical experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment and working with automated equipment required.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
