ROCKWOOL UK are currently recruiting for an Area Sales Manager to cover Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire and South London

Job Purpose & Scope:

  • To develop the Rockwool business within your geographical area, building on existing relationships as well as developing new relationships with contractors, sub-contractors, fit out and interiors companies and distributors in order to deliver budgeted sales targets
  • To work closely with the Project Specification Managers to realise potential projects with our key account partners and offer support to the project team and their sub-contractor/distributor partners
  • To realise volume and invoice sales against the area budget as set out by the line manager during the current period
  • To deliver price development budget

Key Result Areas:

  • Achievement of quarterly and annual sales, and price development budgets both regional and national
  • Number of specifications passed from Project Specification Manager turned to orders
  • CRM usage – month end review of all outstanding appointments and project follow ups
  • All quotations logged and followed up

Key responsibilities:

  • To promote ROCKWOOL brand to target groups
  • To report directly to the Regional Sales Manager – South and contribute towards key strategies and achieving the UK sales budget
  • ‘Own the Region’ - To develop tactics and account plans to capitalise on market opportunities e.g. target customers, customer segments, key accounts and key projects within their defined geographical territory
  • To work closely with the ROCKWOOL UK Commercial team to ensure efficient and timely handover of key projects and contacts with key contractors working on those identified projects
  • To work closely with the Technical Services Team to ensure efficient and timely follow up of calculation requests and also to follow up calculations sent from Technical services to customers to ensure satisfactory conclusions
  • To understand and promote all technical details of the ROCKWOOL product range and to understand current legislation and its effects
  • To use, present and update key ROCKWOOL sales tools; Rocksell, Rockinsight and the ROCKWOOL academy app
  • To achieve business growth targets based on personal objectives and the overall ROCKWOOL UKI Sales team budgets
  • To undertake market research on behalf of the business
  • Maintain competitor awareness
  • Log and update all quotations given to distribution project support forms and the Rocksell system in conjunction with the Inside Sales team

This is what you offer:

  • Two years’ experience in the construction industry, specifically selling a technical or solution based product to market in a specification sales process
  • IT literate with experience of power point, word and excel spread sheet and CRM systems
  • To be able to competently use the CRM system employed by ROCKWOOL, in order to manage key information in relation to opportunities with our customer base
  • Communicating at all levels with key external and internal stake holders in order to convey confidence in the ROCKWOOL brand
  • Demonstrable sales success and specification competency with industry related experience
  • To have competent, working knowledge of ROCKWOOL and its competitors including products
  • Knowledge of sales channels, specifically distribution
  • Key selling skills and ability to negotiate at all levels
