POSITION: SHIPPING SUPERVISOR

This is the role:

This position reports directly to the Senior Distribution Centre Manager. This position has 10 direct hourly reports and is based out of the facility in Chicago, IL. The role is responsible for the Shipping Department Team by coordinating all daily assignments, tasks and requests in the fulfillment of both internal and external customer orders through efficient, timely, cost effective methods while always seeking to improve upon the already established process. You will be a partner with other departments such as Customer Service, Quality assurance, Specialty, Maintenance, Production and others, making sure to understand their needs and provide assistance as needed, always keeping in mind that we are a service oriented department. You will demonstrate exceptional Leadership Skills in all communications with the team, leading by example, listening actively to their concerns and feedback while being respectful of them, their opinions and empathetic of their concerns. 

This is what you offer:

• Good knowledge of SAP main frame system navigation including SAP’s WM/TRM/EWM warehouse management applications and use of RF scanning and mobile WIFI usage at the forklift level.
• Need to be a licensed forklift operator and understand how to load and unload trucks in a safe manner. 
• Excellent people skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated Leadership Qualities and skills
• Must be able to read and write in English and have basic Math skills (i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication)
• Good knowledge of shipping office functions and requirements.
• Above average Excel skills and general knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 70 pounds.
