Merchant Sales Support – South West

The ROCKWOOL Group’s main business area is building insulation. Stone wool insulation provides thermal protection along with fire safety and acoustical comfort for all types of buildings, so that you can spend time with your family having peace of mind of a safe and energy efficient home.

The Merchant Sales Support role is focused on building relationships with builders’ merchants using training and product demonstrations, increasing awareness of ROCKWOOL products and ultimately converting the merchant customers (i.e. Contractors and Merchants) to the use of ROCKWOOL products as their product of choice.  The aim of this role is to maximise ROCKWOOL’s market share and revenue within a specified territory.

Ideally, you will have experience of working within a merchant branch, or inside sales, familiar with contractors and merchants, and are looking for the next step in your career.  This role is entry level, but is a key role within the team, and our expectation is that the successful candidate will contribute to the expansion of our growing merchant trade. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Regular merchant branch visits, via a call plan.

  • Building strategic relationships with key stakeholders within merchant branches.

  • Increasing sales as directed by the Regional Sales Manager – South.

  • Managing merchant branch stock profiles.

  • Ensuring all merchant branches are kept up-to-date with current literature and new products.

  • Ensuring all product displays are kept clean and presentable, including customer facing stock.

  • Training merchant staff.

  • Attending merchant/contractor events such as Product Demonstration/Open/Trade Days.

  • Following up leads generated by the above events and trade advertising.

  • Demonstrating the applications of ROCKWOOL on site to contractors.
