Are you a wizard with the written word?
Can you transform information from multiple sources into clear and compelling stories? Would you enjoy working with media to find interesting angles profiling ROCKWOOL’s unique contribution to enhancing modern living? ROCKWOOL offers a key position in the Group Communications team, which includes exciting development opportunities in an ambitious, international business.
This is who we are
ROCKWOOL Group is the world’s leading supplier of innovative products based on stone wool. The Group’s operations have a large presence in Europe as well as North America, Russia, India and East Asia. In addition to supporting the CEO and other executives, the Group Communications team is focused on creating clear and compelling narratives about the role ROCKWOOL products play in areas such as sustainability, energy efficiency, fire safety, and modern living more broadly. Based at corporate headquarters in Hedehusene, Denmark, the Group Communications team is a part of ROCKWOOL’s Group Marketing, Communications & Public Affairs department.
This is the role
In this position, you will work extensively on further developing and executing a media relations/social media strategy with an eye on positioning ROCKWOOL as a leading voice in commercially relevant public and policy debates. An overarching goal will be to contribute to strengthening ROCKWOOL’s brand and reputation on the innovative cutting edge of addressing global megatrend challenges including climate change, sustainability, urbanisation, and more. Raising executive and corporate profiles via the media is an important means to this end.
Reporting to the Vice President for Group Communications, you will be responsible strategically and operationally for a broad range media-related activities and initiatives. You will work closely with colleagues across disciplines in generating new content for multiple media uses, e.g. press releases, internal and external articles, key messaging documents, communications advisories, media briefing materials, Q&As, and social media posts. In cases of crises and incidents, you will work closely with relevant colleagues to ensure timely and professional communication vis-à-vis the media.
In short, you will play a leading role in ROCKWOOL’s communications efforts. You will be a driving force in building and maintaining strong relations with a range of media segments, including business, environmental, sustainability, and general interest outlets, both in Denmark and internationally. As part of the communications team, you will work extensively with colleagues across the department as well as more broadly with colleagues in other Group staff positions and in the regions.
This is what you offer
You have solid media relations and social media experience (min. 10 years) preferably in an international business environment. With your native or near-native English- and Danish (or other Scandinavian) language skills, you are a very strong writer and communicator in both English and Danish/Scandinavian. You are curious by nature and have the intellect to seek out and convert new and existing information into clear, coherent, interesting stories for various media segments and channels as noted above.
Passionate about communications and media broadly, you enjoy creating interesting and engaging content. Most importantly, you understand what makes a compelling story and how to pitch it to journalists and convey it strategically via relevant social media channels (for this position, LinkedIn and Twitter). You can work independently, while also engaging collaboratively across disciplines and geographies. You are well-organised and structured, while also being comfortable dealing with evolving priorities in a dynamic environment. Educationally, you have at least a university degree in a broadly relevant discipline; the specific educational subject matter focus is less important.
This is what we offer
ROCKWOOL offers a key role in an international environment where communication, agility, and adaptability are key. You will be working within a highly ambitious department, supporting the Group’s commercial objectives. There is much room for entrepreneurship and personal development. ROCKWOOL is proud of its friendly culture where teamwork and a down to earth attitude are common.
