ROCKWOOL International A/S Board of Directors has today decided to nominate Thomas Kähler as new Chairman of the Board following the April 2020 General Meeting; subject to re-election at the Annual General Meeting.
Thomas Kähler will resign from his position as Senior Vice President, Systems Division.
At the Annual General Meeting Henrik Brandt will not stand for re-election.
Thomas Kähler has been a Board member of ROCKWOOL International since 2008. In addition, he has held several management positions in the Group; since 2015 as head of the Group's Systems Division and part of Group Management. Thomas Kähler has earlier in his career acquired experience with management, sales and business development in international companies outside the ROCKWOOL Group.
“I am extremely pleased that a unanimous Board today has backed my candidacy. Now a process is underway that will lead to the election and constitution of the Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in April next year,” says Thomas Kähler.
“I have had and continue to have an excellent collaboration with CEO Jens Birgersson and the other Group Management members. I have no doubt that this good collaboration will continue,” says Thomas Kähler, and continues. “I would like to thank Henrik Brandt on behalf of myself and on behalf of the Kähler family for his great efforts in the company. I have great respect for Henrik's professionalism and professional competencies, and there is no doubt that Henrik has been a great source of inspiration for me,” says Thomas Kähler.
Henrik Brandt is pleased that Thomas Kähler is now ready to take over. “I have always been aware that it was Thomas Kähler's ambition to take over as Chairman at some point. Therefore, it comes as no surprise to me that the time has now come. Thomas has many good prerequisites for becoming a successful Chairman. He has served on the Board of Directors for the past 11 years, and for a period before joining the Group Management, had been Vice Chairman. I am convinced that Thomas will safeguard the values that the Kähler family have always guaranteed in ROCKWOOL and which will continue to be a significant foundation for the successful development of the Group for many years,” says Henrik Brandt.
