Job Purpose & Scope
Responsible for receiving incoming shipments, primarily for Maintenance Storeroom Inventory. You will be responsible for parts accountability and inventory control. This position reports to the Technical Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities & Job Content

  • Receive in physical goods shipments and transport to on site storage destinations using fork truck, skid loader, end loader, ¾ ton truck, or a combination of means.

  • Document receipts of goods per Departmental Policy using computerized inventory management system. (SAP)

  • Catalog all incoming goods to the Storeroom maintaining Storeroom location accuracy.

  • Perform Inventory Cycle Counts to reconcile physical inventory and to maintain a high state of support readiness.

  • Assist in Maintenance Purchasing activities to include Requests for Quotations and Purchase Requisitions/Orders creation.

  • Fulfil internal parts requests maintaining strict computerized inventory management system accuracy.

  • Respond to Emergency parts acquisitions, as is necessary, insuring computerized inventory management system accuracy is maintained.

  • Maintain Storeroom cleanliness.

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

  • 2 years Maintenance purchasing experience or equivalent storeroom inventory experience.  

  • Proficient in the safe operation of Fork Lifts.

  • Possess the ability to learn the operation of other heavy equipment as may be required to fulfil Plant needs.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Experienced and skilled in operating windows-based computers.

  • Proficient knowledge and willingness to use a Computerized Inventory Management System.

  • Be willing to travel for training. Possibly out of country.

The employee is occasionally required to hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk, and smell.

The employee must frequently lift, carry, push or pull up to 60 pounds and/or occasionally lift, carry, push or pull up to 120 pounds with another person, shovel heavy waste to shoulder height.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
