GC32 Design competition

Are you an aspiring graphic designer? Spend your free time doodling away the days? Or perhaps you’re just a huge fan of Team ROCKWOOL Racing, with a creative flair?

Well, if so, this competition is the one for you! We’re offering you the chance to create your own design for Team ROCKWOOL Racing’s foiling GC32 training boat – and win some high-quality fan gear in the process!

The winning design will inspire the actual design of the GC32 boat for Team ROCKWOOL Racing’s training for SailGP Season 2, and participation in the GC32 Racing Tour in 2021. All you have to do is to create a design either by hand or by using your favourite device, and submit it to us. A panel of Team ROCKWOOL Racing athletes and ROCKWOOL employees will select the best design, and if it’s yours, you’ll receive a full set of Team ROCKWOOL Racing sailing gear and merchandise… and the chance to see your design take to the ocean in 2021!

How to participate

To participate, you need to do the following:

1. Download the design template from this page. The template is available as both a print-out and a digital file ready for design based on your preference.
2. Use your imagination to design an inspiring, awesome and jaw-dropping design for the GC32 boat using either pens, crayons or top-notch design software.
3. Submit your final design as either an image file or PDF document to racing@rockwool.com. Please include “GC32 design competition” in the subject line.

Multiple entries are allowed: You are allowed to submit as many designs as you wish. If you are submitting multiple designs in a single e-mail, please make sure to state this clearly.

Please note that submitting multiple designs will not necessarily increase your chances of winning. The winner is selected based on the quality of the design and not selected by random draw. Please refer to the terms and conditions below for more detail.

Design guidelines

Here are a few pointers to get you going with your design and to make sure your design will be as close to a realistic final design as possible:

• The Danish flag must be included on the sail in the position shown and cannot be moved or altered in any way.
• The sails base colour is black, so incorporating that into your design will make it easier to replicate on the actual boat.
• The foils are black, and the colour cannot be changed.
• The design must include the Team ROCKWOOL Racing logo.

Terms and conditions for ROCKWOOL Group GC32 design competition running from 16/12/2020 - 04/01/2021.

1. About The Competition

The competition is made by ROCKWOOL (ROCKWOOL International A/S, CVR no 54879415, Hovedgaden 584, 2640 Hedehusene, Denmark). You can participate in the competition regarding a full set of Team ROCKWOOL Racing gear including a jacket, a pair of shorts, a t-shirt and a cap (estimated value: €800.)

The prize is not related to buying any products and cannot be changed to cash. It is free of charge to participate. As this is a performance-based competition the prize may be subject to local taxation. The participation is fully responsible for fulfilling any personal tax obligation that the participant might incur.

The competition runs from Wednesday 16/12 to Monday 04/01/2021. The winner will be selected by a prize committee made up of the athletes from Team ROCKWOOL Racing and ROCKWOOL employees based on the creativity, ingenuity and relevance of the design. There will only be one winner of the contest and the winner will be announced on the 15^th of January 2021. The winner will be informed via e-mail and the winning design will be posted on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn from both ROCKWOOL and Denmark SailGP Team profiles.

2. Who can participate?

Only persons of 18+ years of age can participate. Children under the age of 18 can only participate if the design is submitted by a parent or legal guardian. ROCKWOOL employees, members of their household as well as any person directly or indirectly involved in the organisation of this competition are excluded from participation.

3. How to participate

You can participate in the competition, only if you:

1. Submit a design for the GC32 sail boat in accordance with the design guidelines to racing@rockwool.com before the date January 04, 2021. The e-mail subject line must contain “GC32 design competition” and designs should be attached as an image file or PDF document. Multiple entries are allowed.

We register your participation in the competition via e-mails submitted to the above-mentioned e-mail address. You will be contacted by ROCKWOOL if you are the winner.

Claims from participants are excluded. ROCKWOOL reserves the right at its sole discretion to terminate the competition without any prior notice. This competition is subject to Danish law. Any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the Danish courts

Your design must not have previously been for sale or shown, just as it must not have been produced, marketed, transferred, licensed to a third party, sold or exhibited in any other way in the period from the time it is submitted to ROCKWOOL and until the announcement of a winner.

4. Privacy policy

Purpose

We process your personal data for the following purpose:

• Your participation in the competition
• Our administration of the competition, hereunder the draw of and contact to the winner

Personal data

We process the following types of personal data:

1. Name, e-mail address, country
2. For the winner, name and address will be collected for arranging shipment of the winning prizes. Any personal data of participants except for the winner will be deleted 14 days after shipping of the prize. Personal data of the winner will be kept for 2 years.

5. Design rights

When you submit your design to ROCKWOOL, you grant ROCKWOOL and its affiliates an unlimited and exclusive right worldwide, without any restrictions in exploitation and publication, including the right to use, reproduce, modify, create derivative works from, distribute, transmit, transcode, translate, broadcast, and otherwise communicate, and publicly display and publicly perform, your design, and derivative works of your design, for the purpose of the operation, distribution, incorporation as part of and promotion of the ROCKWOOL brand, Team ROCKWOOL Racing, our services, activities or products. ROCKWOOL is the exclusive owner of the derivative works created by ROCKWOOL from your design. Names and logos of ROCKWOOL and all related trademarks, tradenames, and other intellectual property are all property of ROCKWOOL and cannot be used without prior written approval.
